The Messiah has come
It is the night after Jesus’ birth and again the shepherds are in the field. But some were not there the night before and they had many questions. They can talk of nothing else.
“How can this be true, the Messiah, a baby?”
“If only you had been here. It was frightening, it was amazing, it was magnificent. First the angel’s announcement: Your King is here, your Messiah has come, and you will find Him in Bethlehem. Then the sky was ablaze with lights and heavenly singing. After that we just had to go. We had to see this incredible and miraculous site. A tiny baby came to save us and was asleep in a stable on the hay. He was so perfect, so wonderful, so radiant. I believe He is the one. The one who has been prophesied. I believe that he is the Messiah.”
Another who had been there said,
“Why do you not believe? What did you think, the Messiah would just come full grown? Which is harder to believe, a full-grown man just appears in the world from nowhere or that this beautiful precious baby is the Messiah foretold by the prophets? If you had seen the sky light up, if you had heard the angels, you would be different just as we are. I will never be the same. I know that this is the Messiah. The Messiah has come.”

How blessed we are to receive such an amazing gift of a Savior. God loves us so much that He sent His only son to the world to save us and bring us home to Heaven.
How wonderful it is to celebrate His coming into the world each Christmas. We remember the great blessing we have been given and the opportunity to serve Him, Jesus Christ, by serving one another.
He tells us to love one another.
This Christmas why not take time to not only enjoy the happiness of the season but to find a way to bring joy to someone who truly needs to feel the love of Christ Jesus. There is so much that we can do to help one another. Don’t let the season get by without reaching out, calling, writing, giving to someone in need, lending a hand, bringing a smile to someone’s face. It will bring you the true joy of Christmas.
May God’s blessing be with you now and in the coming year. Have a truly Merry Christmas!
