Dear Father,
Thank you for giving us an extra day. A day to work, catch up on things, and a day play. It is a break from the routine and the people I see daily, though both are good. Space from them smoothes the sharp edges and softens hard feelings. It allows the stresses of busyness and frustration to calm. The change in vantage point allows the needed change in viewpoint.
Saturday’s fresh start opens the door to creative solutions seemingly hidden in the cloudy fatigue of Friday. The chance to re-organize, re-set, and recreate allows us to move closer to becoming the people You would have us to be.
Even on busy Saturdays the change in routine brings different people, different activities, and ultimately a different “us”. We can relax knowing that if You grant us tomorrow, we can celebrate with our church family and rest in Your love. What a gift every week, a time to close the old and prepare for the new.
